The San Francisco 49ers have selected defensive lineman Alfred Collins from the University of Texas with the 43rd-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Collins played five seasons for the Longhorns and was a steady presence on one of the nation’s most competitive defensive lines. He earned second-team All-American honors from the Associated Press in 2024 and was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2023. Over his career, he totaled 142 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks across 63 games with 26 starts.

At 6′ 6” and 332 pounds, Collins impressed scouts with his rare combination of size, power, and athleticism. He impressed evaluators with his ability to disrupt passing lanes, collapse the pocket, and impact special teams, logging seven pass breakups and a blocked kick in his final season.
