It’s Moving Day at Augusta National Golf Club.

The 89th Masters Tournament has had its field trimmed for the weekend rounds, and the chase for the green jacket truly begins. Will the leaders protect their spaces at the top of the leaderboard? Who can make a charge from the middle (or back of the pack)?

Justin Rose opened the day with a one-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau, with Rory McIlroy and Corey Conners another stroke behind. Players in the top 10 begin their rounds at 2 p.m.

The round of the day belongs to Zach Johnson, who finished with a 7-under-par 65, his best ever at Augusta in his 20th Masters. But Rory McIlroy’s second eagle of the day on No. 15 makes him 6 under on the day despite two bogeys.

Masters payout, purse for 2025

The payout and total prize money for the 2025 Masters were announced Saturday just after noon.

The total purse for this year’s tournament is $21 million, up $1 million from a year ago. Much of that money goes to the winner; the champion’s share grows to $4.2 million in 2025, up $600,000 from 2024.

Players that missed the cut each receive $25,000, which is also an increase from previous years.

What are the odds in the 2025 Masters Tournament?

There’s a new betting favorite (or two) after Friday’s second round.

Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy are now joint favorites to win the green jacket at +360, moving just ahead of defending champion Scottie Scheffler (+400). Second-round leader Justin Rose is fourth (+850), then it’s further back to Tyrrell Hatton (+1200) and the rest of the field.

Rory McIlroy again attempts to complete the career Grand Slam with a Masters Tournament victory.

Has Justin Rose won the Masters?

Justin Rose has never won the Masters. Making his 20th appearance in the tournament, Rose’s best finish came in 2017 when he finished solo second behind Sergio Garcia. Rose also finished T-2 in 2015 behind Jordan Spieth.
