The 2025 NFL Draft wraps up Saturday, and the one question on everyone’s minds was answered when the Cleveland Browns drafted Shedeur Sanders with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round.

Sanders has been the story of the draft after he went undrafted through the first four rounds. Thursday’s first-round omission was understandable, but as quarterbacks like Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel came off the board Friday, Sanders’ slide seemed all the more momentous.

Current NFL players like Patrick Mahomes, Mecole Hardman Jr., Budda Baker and more expressed their disbelief on social media that Sanders hadn’t been drafted on Friday night.

The fifth round is currently under way. Teams will have five minutes to submit picks in the fifth and sixth rounds of the draft. Teams get just four minutes to make a pick in the seventh and final round of the draft.
