Michigan basketball takes on Wisconsin in the final game before the 2025 NCAA tournament bracket gets revealed.
The Wolverines face the Badgers in the Big Ten tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis. Michigan, the No. 3 seed who received a double-bye, reached the championship by handling Purdue by 18 and getting past Maryland with a Tre Donaldson buzzer-beater.
Wisconsin, the No. 5 seed, has won three games in three days, starting with Northwestern on Thursday and UCLA on Friday. On Saturday, Wisconsin held on to knock off 1-seed Michigan State 77-74 to reach the championship.

The Wolverines have their first lead since the first half. After another scoring drought, Tre Donaldson came off a screen for a big 3 to go up by two late.
3:31, 2H: Michigan trails 51-50
Wisconsin ended the run with a John Tonje free throw and dunk, but Nimari Burnett tied it again with a 3. Steven Crowl answered with his own long-range shot for the Badgers, and Tre Donaldson cut it to one with a layup.
5:50, 2H: Michigan ties it at 45 with 7-0 run
Michigan is on a 7-0 run to tie the game at 45. It started with a Will Tschetter triple, followed by a pair of Danny Wolf layups.
7:39, 2H: Michigan trails 43-38
The droughts have returned.
Michigan has gone over four minutes without a basket, while Wisconsin has missed eight of their last nine shots. The Wolverines have gotten to the line, courtesy of Tre Donaldson, for some offensive production. Wisconsin is shooting 24.1% and Michigan is shooting 26%.
11:38: 2H: Michigan trails 38-32
Wisconsin pushed their lead out to 11 points with a 6-0 run, with all the points coming from the free throw line. Michigan answered with a 3 from Will Tschetter and a Vlad Goldin bucket.
15:22, 2H: Michigan trails 32-27; Gayle returns
The teams found their jump shots at halftime. The teams have combined to hit five of their last six shots after trudging through the first half. Wisconsin has found success getting to the rim, while L.J. Cason has two 3s for the Wolverines. Roddy Gayle, who left in the first half with an apparent hamstring issue, returned to the court with a sleeve on his left leg.
Halftime: Wisconsin leads 23-21
Both teams stuck to the early theme by going scoreless in the final minutes of the half.
Both teams finished with a season-low in first-half points, as Wisconsin shot 21.6% (8-of-37) and Michigan shot 28.1% (9-of-32). Most of the misses are coming from deep. Michigan shot 3-of-17 from behind the arc and Wisconsin shot 4-of-24 from 3. Michigan had an early 5-0 lead, but the advantage never grew to more than that in either direction due to the shooting struggles.
Vlad Goldin leads Michigan with seven points, while Nimari Burnett and Rubin Jones both have five. John Blackwell has a game-high 11 points for Wisconsin.

Wisconsin took a two-point lead on a John Blackwell layup. On the finish, he appeared to land an inadvertent leg into Vlad Goldin’s groin area, leaving the Wolverine big man in pain heading into timeout. Roddy Gayle also had a slight limp after contesting a Nolan Winter transition layup but remained in the game. Goldin leads Michigan with seven points, and Blackwell has 11 for the Badgers.
During the timeout, Gayle went to the locker room with a trainer. On CBS, Tracy Wolfson reported Gayle was getting treatment on his hamstring.

It remains low-scoring as both teams struggle to locate from deep. Wisconsin has started to thaw a bit after the ice-cold start to take the lead from Max Klesmit and John Blackwell jumpers. Michigan has one made basket on its last eight field goal attempts.

Michigan went on a scoring drought for over five minutes before Vlad Goldin hit a hook shot in the lane and a 3 on the next possession.
