Kate reunited with Irish Guards for St Patrick’s Day parade

The Princess of Wales is making a solo appearance at the Irish Guards St Patrick’s Day parade in London.

Appearing in a bottle-green coat, the princess was greeted by senior officers as the regiment celebrated its 125th anniversary.

Kate, 43, is colonel of the regiment but missed the parade last year as she was undergoing cancer treatment.

The princess visited army cadets and presented the traditional shamrock to the regimental mascot, an Irish wolfhound named Seamus, below

Upon arrival at Wellington Barracks in Westminster, the princess presented soldiers with medals for long service and good conduct, and gave the traditional sprigs of shamrock to officers and guardsmen. The regimental mascot, an Irish wolfhound named Seamus, also received a sprig of shamrock. Handing out shamrocks on St Patrick’s Day is a longstanding royal tradition.
