History Favors Blues Over Jets in Game 7 For One Reason

We have another Game 7 in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the St. Louis Blues traveling to Winnipeg to face the Jets. This will be the first-ever Game 7 to be held in Winnipeg, making it a historic game for the franchise.

However, recent history seems to favor the Blues in this game. Blues goalie Jordan Binnington has been excellent in his career in Game 7s.

Binnington holds a record of 2-0 and has allowed 0.82 goals per game. This includes him helping the Blues win the Stanley Cup a few years ago as a rookie, taking down the Boston Bruins in Game 7.

Binnington is one of the more streaky goalies in the league, but when he is on, he is almost unbeatable. The veteran gives confidence to his teammates, and it’s helped them settle things down on the ice.

“Two words that come to mind right away is how calm he is and proven winner,” Montgomery said. “He’s done it, he’s been there, he knows how to not only get himself in the right zone, but also how to give confidence to his team in front of him.”

Going into Winnipeg for Game 7 won’t be easy, but the Blues are a very confident group right now. They were able to hold off elimination in Game 6, and St. Louis is looking to shock the NHL world.

The Jets were the best team in the league this past season, so this series against the Blues has been fairly alarming. Fans should be in for an exciting game, and we shall see if Binnington can remain undefeated in these crucial games.
