The polls are open for the special election in Pennsylvania’s 36th Senate District.
Voters from 25 of the county’s 60 municipalities will head to the polls to decide who will fill an empty seat in the state Senate. Their choices: Republican County Commissioner Josh Parsons; East Petersburg Mayor James Andrew Malone, a Democrat; or Mount Joy Libertarian Zachary Moore.
Nearly half of the county’s population — 269,182 people, according to the 2020 census — lives in the 36th District.
The polls are open until 8 p.m.
