Utah Jazz vs Memphis Grizzlies recap and final score: Young Jazz blown out at home.

The Utah Jazz have now lost three straight games and are 1-9 in their last 10 games. I don’t think there’s been a worse season than this one, though the promise of a top 3 lottery pick remains on the horizon. In this game, the Jazz took on a solid Memphis Grizzlies squad that’s dealing with some injuries and lost prety decisively 140-103.

The Jazz started hot in the 1st and early 2nd quarter, bursting out to a double-digit lead on fantastic shooting from Collin Sexton, Brice Sensabaugh, and Isaiah Collier. Collier looks to be figuring out his 3 point shot from game-to-game. Walker Kessler has been testing his long-distance shot as well and made 1 early-on in the 1st half.

Another few dudes in the 1st half had it going, with Johnny Juzang hitting 3-6 three pointers, and Cody Williams going 100% on field goals (with 2 threes). Cody looked more aggressive than I’ve seen him all year.

Despite this early Jazz surge, the Grizzlies showed their experience and stormed back to a score of 64-65 at the half. A couple Grizz players turned it on and caught up quickly. Desmond Bane looked great and Jaren Jackson Jr bullied down low, with both putting up double-digits in the first half.

The second half was a different story. The Grizzlies essentially just punched the Jazz in the mouth with their big men…Jay Huff looked like an All-NBA Player in this game. The Jazz could do nothing against Zach Edey as well. So essentially, an interesting 1st half and a hard-to-watch 2nd half as the wheels just really fell off for Utah.

In the end, our top scorer was Isaiah Collier with 21 points (also had 6 turnovers). Kyle Filipowski had a decent game with 13 points and some nice points. Johnny Juzang shot well in the first half, as stated above. Overall, this was a game to forget, with some nice development moments throughout.

The tank rolls on with Utah’s next matchup vs Houston on Thursday. Fans shouldn’t expect many more wins as the season closes out. This is just a race to the bottom with the Washington Wizards at this point.
