It’s the second time prices have gone up in the game since Mega Millions started more than 20 years ago. That means you can now expect some better odds, along with a bigger prize, though you’re still supremely unlikely to win. The jackpot odds will become 1 in 290 million, compared to 1 in 302 million with the previous game. Bigger prizes for non-jackpot tickets A multiplier system gives players a shot at bigger prizes at all levels of the game. Under the old system, a player could pay extra for a “Megaplier” to increase non-jackpot prizes by up to 5X. That is being retired in favor of the randomized multiplier embedded with each game.If a person buys a single play on a ticket, they will have either a 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X printed next to their play to show their multiplier amount. If the player buys multiple plays on a ticket, each line will show the randomized multiplier.The range for matching all five balls will be $2 million to $10 million, up from $1 million.
