Tre’Davious White is headed back to Buffalo.
The Bills struck a one-year, $6.8 million deal with the cornerback on Thursday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. White split time last season with both the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens, though he was on a one-year deal.
White got his start in the league with the Bills, who took him with the No. 27 overall pick out of LSU in 2017. He spent his first seven seasons in the NFL with the team, where he quickly became a staple in their defense before he tore his left ACL during the 2021 season. The two-time Pro Bowler racked up 311 total tackles and 18 interceptions throughout his time with the team.

White then signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams last offseason after he was released by the Bills, though they dealt him to the Ravens ahead of the deadline after initially benching him. White allowed four touchdowns in four games, and then was a healthy scratch before he was sent to Baltimore — where he was the team’s fourth cornerback. He finished with 22 total tackles over 11 games.
White will now join a Bills team looking to finally get over the hump in the AFC and reach the Super Bowl. The team has advanced to the playoffs in all but one season since White has entered the league, but it has reached the AFC Championship game only twice. They reached that round last season after going 13-4 before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs.
While he’s a small piece for the defense, White should be able to provide significant depth to the Bills’ secondary this fall while they attempt to finally make their deep postseason run. And, now that the 30-year-old is back in a familiar place, there’s no reason he can’t put up numbers like he did during the front half of his career.
