NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – “Don’t be Trashley,” the Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) and Mayor’s Office reminded Nashvillians on Saturday at a spring clean-up event.
NDOT recently launched a litter prevention marketing and education campaign with the star Trashley.
NDOT said Trashley is Nashville’s most notorious litterbug and is the daughter of TDOT Tennessee Trash Man from the 1970s TV ad.
“Like her father, she’s got a bad habit of leaving garbage wherever she goes,” the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County said.
Organizers and volunteers joined outside the Smith Springs Community Center on March 29 to clean up the area.
Neighbors who want to organize a cleanup can do so here.
The city of Gallatin also had a countywide litter cleanup where they worked to clear trash from roads, parks and neighborhoods.
