CB Tre’Davious White returning to Bills

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills are bringing back cornerback Tre’Davious White, a former starter for the team, on a one-year contract, the player’s agent told The Associated Press on Thursday.

White’s deal first reported by ESPN is reportedly worth $6.8 million, agent Kevin Conner confirmed to the AP. If the 30-year-old White can return to form after injuries that have eroded his play in recent seasons, White would have an opportunity to regain a starting spot in Buffalo’s secondary opposite Christian Benford.

A starter for seven seasons in Buffalo after getting drafted in the first round in 2017, the 30-year-old White had two Pro Bowl campaigns and made the All-Pro team in 2020. Injuries to his knee and Achilles tendon caused White to play in just 10 games over his final two seasons with the Bills. He split last season between the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens after getting released by the Bills for salary cap savings a year ago.

White has familiarity with Buffalo’s defense, as the first player drafted by coach Sean McDermott.

Rasul Douglas, the cornerback Buffalo traded for to replace White in 2023, remains unsigned. The Bills also brought back Dane Jackson this offseason, and still have Ja’Marcus Ingram at the position.

White has 18 interceptions, all with Buffalo, and is credited with 73 passes defended in 93 games, including 86 starts.
