KETV anchor Bill Schammert captured a tornado on the ground as severe weather moves through Nebraska.Schammert was tracking the severe weather near 132nd Street and Bennington Road when he took the photo looking northeast around 7 p.m. Schammert reported the tornado lifted as they were tracking it moving east on Highway 36.Deputies confirmed a tornado touched down in northern Douglas County.The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and deputies from Washington County are on the scene.Authorities asked people to avoid the area between 72nd Street to 78th Street from Omaha Trace to Dutch Hall Road.”There are multiple downed power lines, damage to homes, and scattered debris,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said. OMAHA, Neb. —KETV anchor Bill Schammert captured a tornado on the ground as severe weather moves through Nebraska.

Schammert was tracking the severe weather near 132nd Street and Bennington Road when he took the photo looking northeast around 7 p.m.

Schammert reported the tornado lifted as they were tracking it moving east on Highway 36.

Deputies confirmed a tornado touched down in northern Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and deputies from Washington County are on the scene.

Authorities asked people to avoid the area between 72nd Street to 78th Street from Omaha Trace to Dutch Hall Road.
