Massive CM Punk Rumor Killer on ‘WWE SmackDown’ Segment

One popular rumor regarding a CM Punk segment on WWE TV has been debunked.

A contract signing took place at the conclusion of the March 28 episode of “Friday Night SmackDown.” The show-closing segment involved Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman. Before Punk signed the contract, he was looking for a specific clause.

Heyman then informed Punk that his triple threat match against Reigns and Rollins will headline “WrestleMania 41” in Las Vegas. Punk was emotional during the segment, but he revealed that his guaranteed main event wasn’t the favor that Heyman owed him.

Rumors surfaced online claiming Punk wasn’t informed that he would be headlining “WrestleMania” until Heyman made the reveal in the ring. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful was asked whether or not this is true. Sapp said that given how important that stipulation is in the storyline, Punk knew ahead of time.

With that rumor now put to rest, fans are speculating what favor Heyman still owes Punk. Some have theorized that “The Wiseman” could turn his back on Reigns, while others believe Punk will win the triple threat match and reveal that he has earned himself a world title opportunity.

Fans will likely have to wait until “WrestleMania 41” to find out what strings Heyman will pull to fulfill his favor to “The Second City Saint.” This will be the first time Punk headlines a “WrestleMania” card. During his first run with WWE, Punk told reporters that it was a dream of his to close the show one day.
