MSG Networks have just issued an official statement regarding Sam Rosen’s replacement, after the legend is set to retire after 40 years of hard dedicated work.
Over the last four decades, New York Rangers fans have had the honour of listening to the legendary broadcaster Sam Rosen call games, along with some very iconic moments.
However, heading into this season Sam Rosen announced that it will be his last.
On Monday morning, with the New York Rangers 2024-25 campaign coming to an end, the organization announced Sam’s replacement. A person who is very familiar to fans in New York, mainly fans of the New York Knicks.
Recent reports confirm that Kenny Albert, a long-time sportscaster will be taking over as the Rangers next play-by-play announcer at the beginning of next season, as Sam will officially be retired after the Rangers last game on Thursday.
Sam Rosen has truly had an illustrated career, as he started his career as a radio announcer for the AHL’s Baltimore Skipjacks during the early 1990’s, along with making the legendary Stanley Cup championship game between the Rangers and Canucks.
MSG Networks make it official with latest announcement
Just recently, Mollie Walker of the New York Post, shared an official statement from MSG Networks that confirms Kenny Albert will be taking over as the next play-by-play announcer for the New York Rangers.

Many fans are happy with MSG Networks’ decision on selecting Albert as Sam’s replacement.
