There is a mix up with Everton’s defenders and Sterling is away. He charges 50 yards with the ball before playing it across to Trossard. He takes one step and rifles home a low shot across goal. Great finish and that was ruthless from Arsenal. They’re deservedly ahead.
O’Brien almost scores at the back post
The ball comes in and misses everyone and O’Brien can’t finish at the back post as the bal hits his chest and Arsenal somehow clear. Everton creating some chaos with long throws with all of the big lads up. O’Brien is then booked for shoving Ben White in a scuffle. It’s heating up!
Arsenal well on top
A corner is swung in and Everton clear it just as Arsenal look like they’re going to score yet another from a set piece. Moments later a cross is is cleared by Branthwaite. Everton have barely had a kick. Branthwaite then clears another Rice corner off the line. Arsenal are pushing hard for this opener.
Terrible mistake from Pickford and Arsenal almost score
Pickford is caught out on the ball way out of his goal and Arsenal pounce. The ball drops to Sterling and he’s got a free shot on goal but his shot is blocked well and Everton clear the danger. It’s all Arsenal early on.

Injuries have really calmed down for the Toffees and that gives Moyes a few extra attacking options. Both Ndiaye and Chermiti are back, while Broja is also now a good option off the bench too. Beto continues to lead the line superbly well and if Everton can get Harrison, Alcaraz and Doucoure close to him with their midfield runs they will cause Arsenal plenty of problems on the transition.

With Timber, Gabriel, Calafiori and White all going down with injuries over the last week or so, Arsenal’s defensive issues have once again come to the fore. Just when Saka returned to give them a big boost, they’ve been hit again. Injuries have been so unkind to the Gunners this season but they’re doing all they can to stay in the title race. They’ve only lost one of their last 20 Premier League games but they’re still 12 points behind Liverpool. Saka could start in this game, while Partey is likely to play at right back with Kiwior coming in at center back.
