Most Unexpected: Mumbai Player Goes to CSK!

Though the quality of the games between Chennai and Mumbai have been going down gradually over the recent legs of IPL, these are two of the most successful sides in the tournament. Every time there is a clash between Mumbai and Chennai, there is a lot of anticipation going around.

Considering the rich legacy of these two teams, it is rare to see players, switching from one side to another between these two teams. However, historically, a few such exchanges have happened as the likes of Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh, have gone from Mumbai to Chennai in the recent past.

However, going by the latest developments, a young prodigy who was earlier with Mumbai Indians has now gone to Chennai Super Kings and this is one of the most unexpected moves.

Young South African batsmen Dewald Brevis has gone from being a former Mumbai player to a current Chennai player. After having played with Mumbai for a couple of seasons until 2024, the youngster was unsold this year. But he continued with Mumbai franchise in the SA T20 league and won the trophy with them as well.

But out of nowhere today, Chennai Super Kings announced that Brevis will be playing for them this year for the remainder of the tournament. This announcement came out of the blue, and no one was expecting the same.

Brevis has been announced as the replacement for CSK player Gurjapneet Singh. More interestingly, this move comes just a couple of days before the high-profile class between Chennai and Mumbai, which is scheduled for April 20.
