BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The NHL trade deadline is Friday, March 7 at 3 p.m. You will be able to track any moves the Sabres make this week in the feed below.
The Sabres enter trade deadline day 24-31-6 on the season, last in both the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference. They sit 13 points out of a playoff spot and would have to pass eight teams in 24 games to get there. They’d need to earn 36 of a possible 42 points (.857) just to make it to 90, which still might not be enough to get in.
With that in mind, the Sabres’ pending unrestricted free agents could be on the move – and other promising young talent could be in demand. Their list of remaining UFAs includes forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel (currently in AHL), defensemen Henri Jokiharju and Jacob Bryson, and goaltender James Reimer.
