Chelsea fans hail ‘phenomenal’ Pedro Neto trait that won’t surprise Wolves supporters

It has turned out to be a decent weekend for Wolves, with Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton all losing.

Wolves played out a 1-1 draw with Everton on Saturday night, showing good character to come from a goal down.

Marshall Munetsi scored his first goal for the club, after Jack Harrison’s deflected strike gave the visitors the lead.

Wolves were without talisman Matheus Cunha and the Brazilian’s absence was felt.

But Jean-Ricner Bellegarde – who some fans now feel could be Cunha’s replacement – stepped up, supplying a perfect pass for Munetsi to score.

The result was seen positively, and with Leicester losing on Sunday against Chelsea, it has been a decent weekend in the end for Wolves, who are six points clear of the drop.

And one man Wolves fans ought o be thankful for today is Pedro Neto.

His performance today was lapped up today by some fans who were left wowed by one thing the Portuguese showed in particular.

Chelsea have moved into the top four with their win over Leicester.

A win for Chelsea was the result Wolves fans were lucky for – and seemingly, Neto played a bit part in today’s win for the Blues.

Marc Cucurella was the man who got the goal.

But Neto has been hailed the work-rate he showed in the game.

@KierDoyle said: “Shoutout Pedro Neto. Dude absolutely emptied the tank.”

@AlexGoldberg_ said: “Pedro Neto, the birthday boy, is such an admirable worker. So hard to dislike. Team player.”

Say what you want about Pedro Neto, but I can’t help but love this guy.Did you see his work rate off the ball and link-up play today? THAT is what he offers you (and more).

I will never understand the hate he gets. Mentality monster.

@CFCAway_: “Well done Pedro Neto. Incredible work rate. Shame some of the others don’t follow suit.”

@UberChelseaFC_ added: “Don’t care what anyone says about Pedro Neto, his work rate is phenomenal. Got the atmosphere going alongside Enzo and Cucurella.”

@FelixJohnston_ said: “Honestly surprised Pedro Neto didn’t catch on fire at full time, given just how much ground he covered that game. Also loved Tyrique’s cameo. Worked tirelessly and some nice moments of quality too.”

This is something that won’t come too much of a surprise to Wolves fans, with Neto often someone who’d run himself to the ground at Molineux.

This is something Neto received praise for from Gary O’Neil, who said in February of last year (via Sky Sports): “His work rate, the way he trains, playing within the shape and taking information on board.

“He is incredibly talented and physically very gifted as well.

“He has attacked every training session with 100 per cent commitment and you are starting to see the benefits.”

Neto has yet to truly rip up trees for Chelsea since leaving Wolves, having scored just five goals and made seven assists in 32 appearances. Indeed, some Chelsea fans have been critical of Neto for the campaign he’s had so far.

But his time will come, and that work-rate of his is bound to stand him in very good stead.
