Miraculously, the Blue Jackets are still in the playoff race. Last night, the Blackhawks defeated the Canadiens in overtime, meaning there’s still a chance. A regulation win tonight keeps the hopes alive. Anything else means elimination.
Adam Fantilli
Mo tallied four goals in two games against the Capitals over the weekend. He only needs one more to hit the magic number of 30. He’s also +5 in his last three games. He’s been noticeable on both ends of the ice, and he’ll need to continue being a difference-maker to keep his team in the playoff race.
Jet Greaves
It’s possible that Greaves doesn’t play tonight, given how much he’s played in the last week, but I’m not sure how you could make that call. He was named the NHL’s first star of the week, going 3-0-0 with a .968 save percentage and one shutout. If he can continue that level of play, he’s going to give his team a fighting chance.
Cayden Lindstrom is now in Medicine Hat. According to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers, he is still unlikely to play this season, but he’s practicing with the team and taking contact. Since he has not signed with Columbus, he was not able to participate in practices there. That’s not bad news. The fact that he’s not signed also means he could choose to play in the NCAA next season.
