Boston Celtics injury report: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown listed for Thunder game

The Celtics will likely be shorthanded when they rematch the Thunder at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at TD Garden, though it’s still unclear who will be sitting. The C’s have three total players listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday’s game.

Jayson Tatum (right knee tendinopathy) is questionable while Jaylen Brown (right knee posterior impingement) is probable. Brown played in the Jazz win Monday while Tatum sat, so those two will likely suit up for Wednesday’s game.

However, Kristaps Porzingis continues to be bogged down by an illness as he’s listed as questionable. If he doesn’t play, it’ll be his seventh straight game out. The big man gave an update during Monday’s game to the Jazz, saying he’s dealing with a viral illness. It’s unclear when he could return to the court at this point.

“I have been dealing with some viral illness that we haven’t been able to fully identify yet,” Porzingis posted on social media. “I am recovering and getting better. But still working my way back to full strength to help this team. Thanks for support and Im hoping for a healthy return soon.”

The Thunder have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season as they bring in a 53-12 record into Wednesday’s game. They blew out the Celtics the last time the teams met back in January in Oklahoma City where the C’s mustered up just 27 points in the second half. So the C’s will look for some revenge as the reigning champs face a young team looking to take that next step.
