For Your Consideration

The Sacramento Kings are back in action after suffering a beatdown Thursday night. A back-to-back, on the road, and yet there’s a chance the Kings could still win this one. The Phoenix Suns are dealing with plenty of their own struggles, and enter this game 3.5 games back of the Kings and 2.5 games out of the 10th seed. The Kings need this win if they want to stay securely in the 9th seed, and the Suns need this win if they want to even have a chance at the Play-In this season. Time is running out for both franchises. Following another embarrassing loss, we’ll see if the Kings come out with any sense of pride to start this game.

We’re still waiting to hear if Domantas Sabonis will make his return in this one. He was listed as Questionable for yesterday’s game, and was ruled out close to game time. Sabonis is getting close, but hamstrings are tricky and it’s hard to blame the Kings for playing it safe. Having Domas back would give the Kings a boost, not to mention a set of fresh legs, but I’d personally guess he sits one more game. After this the Kings are off until Monday, and those couple extra days could ensure Domas’ hammy is truly ready for game action.

Aside from Domas, the Kings are expected to be otherwise healthy for this one.

One thing I’ll be looking for in this game is for Zach LaVine to be more aggressive. He took just 6 shots in the loss to the Warriors. He needs to be a bigger part of the offense for the Kings to be successful.

Prediction

The Kings bounce back against a sub-.500 team, resulting in optimists calling me a hater. LaVine drops 30.

Kings 113, Suns 110
