Tornado Watch until 10 am-A look at the forecast
Strong storms and heavy rain will bring active weather to our region.
Hi, I’m WLKY meteorologist Suzanne Horgan. We’re going to be on the lookout for some strong to severe storms for today. We have *** tornado watch that continues until 10 o’clock this morning. As we make our way throughout the day, we’re going to watch for several different rounds of shower and thunderstorm activity to come our way. I think overnight into our early morning hours, especially across some of our western communities, southern Indiana, those are the locations that we’re going to keep our eyes peeled for the potential of some of those strong to severe storms. We have seen tornadoes back out to the west across portions of Missouri and Illinois, so something that certainly bears close watching. I think we’ll then transition to *** heavy rain threat as we head *** little bit. Into the day and even still that risk of still some strong storms out there. So you can see as we head through the overnight hours into the early morning hours, we’re watching for that broken line of shower and thunderstorm activity. Then we should get *** brief break before more shower and thunderstorm activity bubbles up as we head into your afternoon and evening hours, and this is when we’re going to be watching for some gusty winds, and pockets of heavy rainfall. And then as we head into the overnight hours, still *** few lingering showers, breezy weather throughout the. On Sunday, *** few scattered showers are possible. It’s *** severe alert day, windy weather, and even outside any storms. We’re going to be looking out for that windy weather. Then for tonight we dip down to about 51 degrees. For tomorrow highs in the mid-50s, cooler with some spotty showers, still staying breezy out there, looking good for St. Patrick’s Day with temperatures in the 60s or in the 70s on Tuesday. Wednesday we’re watching for another disturbance to roll our way, bring us *** chance of showers, and then we’ll be cooler as we head into Thursday and Friday.
