Adam Sandler fans, rejoice: More Happy Gilmore 2 footage has arrived.
During Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event on Saturday, May 31, the streaming giant gave viewers another sneak peek at the upcoming Sandler-led sequel, in the form of its first full trailer.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck from a screenplay by returning co-writers Tim Herlihy and Sandler, 58, Happy Gilmore 2 takes place nearly 30 years after the original 1996 cult sports-comedy classic and sees Sandler return as the titular golfer.
Aside from the latter, returning cast members include Christopher McDonald as Happy’s nemesis Shooter McGavin, as well as Julie Bowen as Happy’s love interest Virginia.

Further cast includes Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, John Daly, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Travis Kelce, Blake Clark, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and Paige Spiranac, plus Sandler’s kids Sadie and Sunny Sandler.
Following the news that Travis Kelce will act in the film, Sandler appeared on the football player’s podcast New Heights in August 2024 to talk about Happy Gilmore 2.
“The movie itself picks up from an older guy who played golf a long time. Some stuff goes on in his life, and he’s different — he’s a bit of a mess,” the actor and comedian said. “And then we try to get his life cooking again.”
While speaking to PEOPLE at the May 19 premiere of Fountain of Youth in New York City, McDonald said he “was over the moon to be asked to be in” the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2.
“I’ve been an ambassador for this movie for so long, 29 years later,” the 70-year-old actor shared, adding of Sandler and distributor Netflix, “They’ve outdone themselves.”

However, McDonald insisted he could not reveal any plot details. “I signed an NDA. This is kind of a big deal,” he explained.
What he could say was that Happy Gilmore 2 is “about family and friends and love and basically a lot of heart, which I love about Adam Sandler’s movies,” continued the Hacks star.
“What I love about Adam Sandler is his heart. He’s got so much love for people … and he’s done some amazing work in the last few years. So I’m very happy for him,” McDonald added.
Happy Gilmore 2 premieres on Netflix July 25.
