Amber Alert: Armed men kidnap toddler, mother after $1M demand

Armed and masked men kidnapped a one-year-old girl and her mother in North Carolina after they stormed their Garner home and demanded $1 million from the father, police said.

When the father, Eliuth Alejandro Martinex, refused to pay, the suspects took his wife and daughter and restrained him with tape, Garner Police Department said in a statement sent to Newsweek.

An Amber Alert was issued for Grecia Salome Alejandro-Benitez, aged 13 months, and her mother, Alondra Michelle Benitez-de Jesus, who are now both missing.

“The FBI and SBI are on scene assisting with the investigation,” police said.

Police described the abducted girl as Hispanic, approximately two feet tall, weighing 26 pounds, and with brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink pajama shirt and red and yellow striped pajama pants.

“The three abductors are described as two Hispanic males with no other description given and a Hispanic female described as short and stocky with black curly hair,” the Amber Alert said.

“They were last seen traveling in a black Nissan Altima, license plate unknown.”

Police also described the vehicle as “black or dark colored”.

Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or the Garner Police Department on 919-772-8810.

This is a developing news story and more information will be added soon.
