After trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half, the Arizona Wildcats have a 42-38 lead on the Oregon Ducks at halftime of their NCAA Tournament second-round March Madness game at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

Arizona fans will take that after what appeared to be a disastrous start to the game for Tommy Lloyd’s team.

Oregon was shooting better than 60% from the field and had all the momentum and energy.

But Arizona pounded the offensive boards and rallied to take the lead after the first 20 minutes.

The Wildcats ended up outshooting the Ducks from the field in the first half, 45.7% to 43.2%.

Jaden Bradley leads Arizona with 11 points. Caleb Love has seven. Jackson Shelstad had 12 early points for Oregon, but didn’t score again.

Arizona outscored Oregon 38-19 in the final 15:38 of the first half.

A 15-point Oregon lead has been erased.

Arizona, which started its second-round game against Oregon very slowly, has bounced back to take the lead against the Ducks in Seattle, thanks to an increase in intensity and its relentless attack of offensive rebounds.

The Wildcats have nine offensive rebounds in this game. Six of them have been by Tobe Awaka. Oregon just doesn’t have any answers on the glass for Arizona.

Awaka already has 12 rebounds. Arizona has 19 rebounds as a team. The entire Oregon team has 13 rebounds.

Caleb Love leads the Wildcats with nine points.

Arizona, which had a huge disadvantage early in points in the paint, has now tied Oregon in that category at 16.
