O’Connor Posts Goal and Assist for Colorado

The Avalanche lost 4-3 to the Dallas Stars in overtime of Game Two of the First Round at American Airlines Center on Monday. Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Drury and Logan O’Connor each scored for Colorado while Mackenzie Blackwood made 35 saves in net.
MacKinnon opened the scoring on the power play at 8:48 of the first period with his third goal of the playervia a left-circle wrist shot. With that tally, MacKinnon is now second in franchise history in power-play goals with 16.
Tyler Seguin tied the game for Dallas on the power play at 19:06 of the first period with a left-circle one-timer.
Thomas Harley gave the Stars a 2-1 lead with a wrist shot at 3:40 of the second period.
The Avs tied the game when Drury scored his first goal of the playoffs at 4:42 of the second period via a shot from the slot set up by O’Connor.
O’Connor gave the Avs a 3-2 lead at 19:27 of the second period with his first goal of the playoffs via a backhand shot from the slot while he falling down and facing away from the net.
Dallas tied the game at 10:13 when Evgenii Dadonov scored from just outside the crease.
Colin Blackwell scored the game-winner for Dallas at 17:46 of overtime.
The Avalanche return to Ball Arena for Game Three against the Stars on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. MT on Altitude, Altitude+, ESPN, SN360 and TVAS 2.
