Warning: Spoilers ahead for the season finale of The Bachelor.

Grant Ellis has found his person.

But if fans can recall, this isn’t his first shot at it. The former basketball player made his debut in the Bachelor Nation franchise in 2024 on The Bachelorette, but he didn’t receive the final rose. Now, on this season of The Bachelor, Ellis is finally getting his happily ever after.

On the season 29 finale, which aired on March 24, Ellis proposed to Juliana Pasquarosa, who was among the finalists alongside Litia Garr. Like their love story, Pasquarosa’s timeless engagement ring was a symbol of their union, says its designer Neil Lane

The celebrity jewelry designer set three diamonds — including two distinct bullet-shaped diamonds flanking a centerpiece emerald, all of which weighed approximately 3.5 carats — onto a band with a platinum top and gold shank, a combination of metals that represents their unity.

“The nuance is the structure of the relationship and how it needs to be constantly built and maintained. [Ellis and Pasquarosa] are a very powerful couple.” says Lane, who adds that a large part of the ring’s elegance comes from its meaningful and elegant arrangement.

“Contemporary” references were drawn from 1920s and 1930s Art Deco aesthetic, which is a cornerstone of Lane’s creations. However, he took his design in a different direction with one subtle change. “This time I didn’t use any milgraining [a bordering technique using small metal beads] or little diamond work, which sparkles a lot,” he explains, adding that he really focused on creating an impact with the ring’s bold structure.

Lane reveals that Ellis, 31, had a “difficult” time choosing the perfect ring for his wife-to-be, but this specific design kept resonating with him. “He ended up with this because he felt that was the one for her. Her personality, she’s very bubbly, strong, compassionate and has a sense of style about herself. He was also looking at the style of the ring and the wearability of it,” he says.

Throughout the season, Lane watched Ellis grow in confidence when it came to his relationship with Pasquarosa, 28, revealing that Ellis knew she was the one during the cast’s trip to Spain. “[Their love] just grew and grew and grew, and when he did finally propose, when I saw him, he had a certainty about this relationship.”

Ellis verifies Lane’s account, telling PEOPLE that the ring “screams” Pasquarosa, especially considering she had subtly requested a gold ring prior to the proposal.

“The ring just speaks to our relationship,” Ellis shares. “It’s funky, it’s unique, it’s fresh, but it also symbolizes love and commitment, and it’s possible to have both. … Love doesn’t look a certain way, so I feel like that’s why I picked the most unique ring that I could.”

And Pasquarosa is more than pleased with her new piece of jewelry, telling PEOPLE that her fiancé “hit the nail on the head” with his pick.

“I was definitely more excited to say yes than to actually put the ring on my finger, because I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you are my person. I’m keeping you,'” she says. “This is the second prize, but it was cool. It was really fun.”
