Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson has faced backlash after attending a practice session at the University of North Carolina.
Belichick is embarking on his first season as a college football coach after his surprise decision to take a job at UNC instead of an NFL vacancy. The six-time Super Bowl winner was announced in December and is reportedly being paid $10 million per year to coach the Tar Heels ahead of the new season in August.
However, the presence of Belichick’s girlfriend Hudson, 24, at practice has irked some fans. Hudson, who has been in a relationship with the New England Patriots legend since 2023, was seen sporting a statement outfit that was worlds apart from Belichick’s usual gray hoodie attire over the weekend.
The clip of Hudson standing next to Belichick as players were put through drills at the Kenan Stadium went viral on social media. Hudson, wearing a long Carolina blue coat over a white top paired with a blue skirt and white boots, had the Tar Heels’ color scheme down to a tee as she spoke to Belichick, 72, on the sideline.
While many took issue with Belichick bringing his partner to a practice session, it appeared that former cheerleader-turned-influencer was helping the UNC coach deal with audio equipment. NBC Sports claims that Hudson is part of a team working on a documentary about Belichick’s venture into college football.
However, to some fans, it appeared that she had been added to Belichick’s team. One user joked: “So Bill Belichick’s girlfriend is a coach now…Now they might be overdoing it.”

Another asked: “Is Bill Belichick’s girlfriend on his coaching staff at North Carolina? This is beyond weird and creepy.” A third posted: “That’s just embarrassing.”
Another compared Belichick’s seemingly more laid-back approach to his time at the Patriots, asking: “So Tom Brady wasn’t allowed to have his own trainer… but Bill Belichick’s girlfriend can just walk on the field during practice?”
Hudson is not part of Belichick’s coaching staff, but The Athletic reports that she has been copied into a portion of her boyfriend’s work emails. Despite receiving some criticism for showing up at practice, other fans welcomed her accompanying Belichick.

One fan asked: “Can anyone explain what the problem is here? I don’t see it.” Offering a possible explanation, another added: “Seriously? What’s the problem? Looks like he’s having trouble with the audio equipment that he’s wearing to communicate with other coaches around the field and she’s helping.”
Meanwhile, a third praised Hudson’s sense of style: “I commend her for being able to walk so beautifully in those boots/heels on the grass.”
Last week, Hudson announced that she had entered the Miss Maine USA pageant. Meanwhile, Belichick revealed that UNC had given him the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream when he was unveiled in December.
Speaking about his past opportunities to coach college football, Belichick explained: “It just never really worked out. Had some good years in the NFL, so that was OK, but this is a dream come true. I grew up in college football with my dad. As a kid, all I knew was college football.
“It’s great to come back home to Carolina and back into the environment that I really grew up in. When you’re little, you don’t remember everything. I was too young to remember a lot of things at Carolina, but as I grew up, you hear the same story over and over and over again. One story I always heard was, ‘Billy’s first words were, ‘Beat Duke.'”
