COLUMBUS, Ohio — The City of Columbus is warning people about a text scam involving payments for parking infractions.
The city says its parking services department was aware of fraudulent texts from scammers requesting payment from customers for unpaid parking ticket violations.
The city said it does not request citation payment or collect payment for violations by text.
People should not click on any links and then delete all texts they receive, the city said.
Anyone who has questions about whether they owe payment for parking can check directly with Mobility and Parking Services by either checking their account online at columbus.gov, calling them at 614-645-6400 or visiting the office in-person.
