JUSTIN. WELL, JESSE, THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION WILL INVESTIGATE THIS MORNING’S AIRPLANE FIRE HERE ON THE TARMAC AT ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. ACCORDING TO THE FAA, THE DELTA AIRLINES AIRBUS WAS PUSHING BACK FROM THE GATE WHEN AN ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE BEFORE THAT PLANE COULD TAKE OFF FOR ATLANTA. TERRIFYING MOMENTS MONDAY MORNING AT ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT’S TERMINAL B, A DELTA AIRLINES FLIGHT PREPARING TO DEPART FOR HARTSFIELD-JACKSON ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT HAD TO BE EVACUATED AFTER FLAMES COULD BE SEEN SHOOTING OUT OF THE TAILPIPE ABOVE THE AIRCRAFT’S TWO ENGINES. I’VE SEEN THIS ON THE NEWS SO MUCH RECENTLY, I DIDN’T THINK THAT I WOULD BE SEEING IT IN PERSON FROM INSIDE THE TERMINAL WHILE WAITING FOR HIS FLIGHT LATER THIS AFTERNOON, DILLON WALLACE WATCHED THE EMERGENCY UNFOLDING ON THE TARMAC. THE DELTA PLANE WAS JUST SITTING THERE ON THE TARMAC, NOT MOVING. AND THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE ENGINES. AND THEN AS I PULLED OUT MY PHONE, THE ENGINE BURST INTO FLAMES. AND THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER, I HEARD SIRENS AND, YOU KNOW, GOT SWARMED BY FIRE TRUCKS AND AMBULANCES. AND ACCORDING TO DELTA AIRLINES, THERE WERE 282 PASSENGERS, TEN FLIGHT ATTENDANTS AND TWO PILOTS ON BOARD THE PLANE. WHEN THE ENGINE FIRE STARTED. WALLACE RECORDED THIS VIDEO SHOWING SOME PASSENGERS USE AN EMERGENCY SLIDE TO GET OFF THE PLANE. THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW, THEY WERE, YOU KNOW, HOSING DOWN WITH WATER AND IT SEEMED TO BE PUT OUT PRETTY QUICKLY, BUT IT WAS A LOT MORE SMOKE THAN I HONESTLY EXPECTED. THIS EXCLUSIVE VIDEO FROM CHOPPER TWO SHOWS MORE PASSENGERS EVACUATING SAFELY AS EMERGENCY VEHICLES SURROUNDED THE AIRCRAFT. A STATEMENT FROM DELTA SAYS WE APPRECIATE OUR CUSTOMERS COOPERATION AND APOLOGIZE FOR THE EXPERIENCE. NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SAFETY AND DELTA TEAMS WILL WORK TO GET OUR CUSTOMERS TO THEIR FINAL DESTINATIONS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT EXPECTING ANY OF THIS TO HAPPEN TODAY, BUT I’M GLAD THAT EVERYONE GOT OFF SAFELY. FROM WHAT I SAW. AND ACCORDING TO DELTA, THANKFULLY THERE ARE NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES THIS AFTERNOON. MAINTENANCE TEAMS ARE EXAMINING THIS DAMAGED AIRCRAFT. YOU CAN SEE ON YOU
