The Texas Longhorns’ NFL pipeline under Steve Sarkisian continued as safety Andrew Mukuba was selected with the 64th pick in the NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mukuba, an Austin native, spent the 2021-23 seasons with Clemson before transferring to Texas before the 2024 season.
During his three seasons with Clemson, he made 31 starts and tallied 149 tackles, one sack, 20 pass breakups and an interception. He was named ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year and was a Freshman All-American.
In his lone season as a Longhorn, Mukuba was named third-team All-SEC and was a mainstay in Texas’ elite defense. He was credited with 69 tackles, four tackles for loss, seven passes defended, a forced fumble and a SEC-leading five interceptions.

His 5-foot-11, 186-pound combine measurements are in the 40th and 14th percentiles among defensive back prospects, respectively, while his 4.45-second 40-yard dash puts him in the 71st percentile among DBs.
Mukuba is the fifth Longhorn to be taken so far in this year’s draft, joining OT Kelvin Banks, DB Jahdae Barron, WR Matthew Golden and DT Alfred Collins.
