The Atlanta Falcons are bringing back another familiar face in the secondary. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has agreed to terms with veteran cornerback Mike Ford on a two-year, $4 million contract. The 29-year-old previously played for the Falcons in 2022, appearing in all 17 games with two starts.
Ford spent the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, playing primarily on special teams. Over his seven-year NFL career, Ford has recorded 111 tackles (90 solo), one interception and six passes defended. Atlanta re-signed veteran Mike Hughes to start opposite A.J. Terrell, but the team has not yet re-signed nickel cornerback Dee Alford.
Ford’s signing may be an indication that Alford won’t be back in 2025.
Browns free-agent cornerback Mike Ford reached agreement today with the Atlanta Falcons on a two-year, $4 million deal. Deal negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Oliver Chell.
