COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – Former Gamecock MiLaysia Fulwiley is transferring to an SEC rival.
Fulwiley is transferring to the LSU Tigers after two seasons with the Gamecocks. The guard announced the move in a post on Instagram, with the caption “Geaux Tigers.”
Fulwiley’s addition to LSU adds another piece to the storied rivalry between the two teams. The Tigers have been one of South Carolina’s fiercest competitors in the SEC. South Carolina has secured multiple SEC and national titles. LSU, under the leadership of Coach Kim Mulkey, has also been a formidable contender, winning a championship in 2023.
Fulwiley will give the Tigers another offensive threat, pairing her with the electric guard with Flau’jae Johnson.
Fulwiley was the Gamecocks’ second-leading scorer with 11.7 points per game and was a key piece during South Carolina’s deep runs the past two seasons.
The Columbia native will leave South Carolina with several accolades. Fulwiley was the SEC Sixth Player of the Year in 2025, SEC Tournament MVP, SEC All-Freshman Team, and a national championship winner in 2024.
