Friday’s big stock stories: What’s likely to move the market in the next trading session

Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching as the three major averages suffered their worst day since 2020 , and what’s on the radar for the next session. Microsoft Two big executives from the software giant will be on CNBC TV Friday, starting with CEO Satya Nadella in the 2 p.m. hour ET. Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman is on in the 4 p.m. hour. The stock is 20% from the July high. So far in 2025, Microsoft is down 11.5%. MSFT YTD mountain Microsoft shares in 2025 RH The always outspoken CEO Gary Friedman will be on “Mad Money” at 6 p.m. Friday. RH dropped 40% on Thursday. It is now 67% from the December high. Tariffs hit the stock on Thursday, but so did an earnings report that didn’t meet investor expectations. More big news at 8:30 a.m. on ‘Squawk Box’ The March jobs report will be due Friday morning. Here is where we stand on bonds and big bond exchange traded funds. The 10-year Treasury yield is 4.04%. The two-year Treasury is yielding 3.69%. The one-year Treasury bill yield is 3.92%. The six-month T-bill yield is 4.18%. The three-month , two-month and one-month T-bills all yield 4.3%. On the bond ETF side, the iShares 0-5 Year High Yield Corporate Bond (SHYG) has a dividend yield of 7.19%. The iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) has a dividend yield of 5.94%. The SPDR Bloomberg High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) has a dividend yield of 6.77%. The Invesco Trust for New York Investment Grade Municipals (VTN) is yielding 7.53%. The Fidelity Corporate Bond ETF (FCOR) is yielding 4.39%. The KraneShares Asia Pacific High Income ETF (KHYB) is yielding 10.3%. HYG 1Y mountain The iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) in the past 12 months Private equity stock drop CNBC TV’s Leslie Picker will keep reporting on this class of stock that’s taken a real beating after the Trump administration’s tariff announcement Wednesday. Apollo dropped about 13% Thursday. It is off 35% from the December high. Ares fell 15.5% Thursday. The stock is down 35% from the February high. KKR dropped 15% Thursday. It is off 40% from the Jan. 31 high. The U.S. Dollar index It is down nearly 7% since Inauguration Day and down 1.3% since Election Day. CNBC data guru Gina Francolla reports the U.S. Dollar Index hit its lowest level since Oct. 2. Beyond our shores So far this week, the iShares MSCI Mexico ETF (EWW) is up 5.1%. It is off 24% from the April 2024 high. This week, the iShares MSCI Brazil ETF (EWZ) is up 1.4%. It is down 20% from the April 2024 high. The iShares Latin America 40 ETF (ILF) is up 1.2% this week. The fund is off 17% from the 52-week high hit last April. The iShares MSCI Canada ETF (EWC) is flat this week. It’s off 6% from the December high. The KraneShares CSI China Internet ETF (KWEB) is down 1.37% this week. Shares are off 12% from the Oct. 7 high. The iShares MSCI China ETF (MCHI) is down 1.65% this week. The fund is down 10% from the Oct. 7 high. The iShares China Large-Cap ETF (FXI) is down 1.7% this week. The fund is off 9% from the March high.
