Michigan State and Ohio State will take the ice on Saturday night with a title on the line.
The Spartans and Buckeyes will face off in the Big Ten Tournament championship game on Saturday night from Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich. Michigan State is hosting the championship game for a second straight season as the top seed in the tournament, and will be looking for a second straight tournament title as well.
Michigan State comes into this matchup off a narrow low-scoring 1-0 win over Notre Dame in last week’s semifinals matchup. Ohio State also reached the final off a slim overtime victory over Penn State last week.
Michigan State won three of the four regular season games between these two teams, which included a home two-game sweep of the Buckeyes early in the season. Both of these teams come into this game with a spot in the NCAA Tournament locked up, and thus don’t need the conference tournament auto bid to continue their season.
