We’re just weeks away from crowning the winner of the 2025 season of American Idol, and that means one thing: It’s time for fans to start voting for their favorite season 23 contestants.

The ABC series continues to heat up with new episodes every Sunday and Monday night, and boy have there have been plenty of changes occurring this time around. Carrie Underwood stepped in as a new judge alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie and Jelly Roll became the show’s first “Artist in Residence.” What hasn’t changed is the incredible performances from top contenders every single episode. And as the competition dwindles down, the show has now turned it over to the viewers to help choose who will come out on top.

When can I vote for American Idol in 2025?

Starting Sunday, April 13, voting opens at the end of the show’s East Coast airing at approximately 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Everyone has the chance to vote up to 10 times per voting method (so a total of 30 times across platforms), with voting ending at 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT the next morning.

Viewers can check the official American Idol website or the American Idol app every week to find out when to vote, and the show also recommends looking at their FAQ page for updates throughout the season.

Now, is there an exact method folks should be trying to get their favorite musician to the next round on American Idol? Well, there are multiple ways for fans to vote on the ABC series. Remember, you can utilize any or all of these methods — and we recommend you do!

How to vote for American Idol online:

If you’d like to vote for American Idol on either a computer or the internet browser on your phone, the show has you covered.

Fans can go to American Idol‘s official voting website, where they will need to create a free account in order to access voting. After that, sign in and choose the contestant and the number of times you want to cast your vote. Just remember to save all your choices and that you only have 10 times to do it with this method!

How to vote for American Idol in the app:

For those who want to have one easy place to vote for their favorite artists week after week, American Idol has an official app for that! Viewers can either download it via the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. It offers both highlights from the night and the option to vote.

Once you have the app on your phone, make sure you make an account and sign in. After that, you can go to the “Go to Vote Now” section and select which contestant you’d like to see move forward to the next round. You can give that artist up to 10 votes, and just make sure you click the “Save” button for your choice to go through.

How to vote for American Idol over text:

If you’d rather not create any accounts or add new apps to your phone, American Idol has an even easier way to vote in 2025.
