Ice Cube Makes Another Epic Appearance at Dodger Stadium

Ice Cube turned out to be a good luck charm for the Los Angeles Dodgers when he performed before Game 2 of the 2024 World Series against the New York Yankees.

On Thursday, March 27, the Los Angeles rapper made an encore appearance during the Dodgers Opening Day ceremonies, driving a classic blue Chevy around the perimeter of the field to deliver the World Series trophy to the Dodgers.

Also on hand for the star-studded Opening Day ceremony was sports legends Magic Johnson and Billie Jean King, who are part of the Dodgers ownership group, and helped hoist the World Championship banner at Dodger Stadium as fans such as Rob Lowe and Tom and Colin Hanks looked on.

The Dodgers took the field running down a blue carpet from center field as an instrumental version of Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping hit “Not Like Us” blared from the stadium PA.

Ice Cube played his songs “Bow Down” and “It Was a Good Day” before Game 2 of the series last year, with lyrics altered to include the line “freaking Yankees every way like Kobe” in honor of the late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.

Following Ice Cube’s performance, Dodgers utility player Kiké Hernández joked that they didn’t even need to play the game because they had already won.

The Yankees countered in Game 3 with a performance from East Coast rapper Fat Joe.
