The Tampa International Airport created a stir on social media when their official account on X and Facebook posted that the airport was shutting down. “We’ve heard enough. We’ve had enough. “You’re not a real airport – you don’t have flights to my hometown of 13 people!” Well guess what? We’re not an airport at ALL anymore,” the statement read.
“Effective immediately, were no longer Tampa International Airport. Instead, we’re giving you exactly what you deserve. We’re now just a home for a giant 2-year-old flamingo. While this may seem sudden, our decision is final,” it continued.
The post created confusion and shock among social media users, with many wondering if the account that posted the image belonged to TIA or was it impersonating the airport. A user asked GrokAI to verify the account, and the AI chatbot confirmed that the graphic had indeed been posted by TIA’s official social media handle.
The post is most likely made in jest, and there is no news of the airport actually shutting down.
