NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State University issued an alert informing the community of shots fired near the Bone Student Center on campus.
The university informed there is one reported victim. Police are searching for suspect.
The university said police are looking for a black male 5’10”, black afro hair style, wearing all black. Last seen running south from University and College Street.

Around 8:04 p.m. the university posted a person reportedly discharged a firearm on or near campus.

They said the person may be armed/dangerous and there is the potential of an immediate threat.
At 8:16 p.m., they said to avoid University and Locust St. and Bone Student Center as officers are still clearing the area.
