- Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs is changing his jersey number from 26 to 0.
- Wide receiver Jameson Williams is switching to No. 1 after wearing No. 9 last season.
- Several other Lions players, including Terrion Arnold, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., and Morice Norris are also changing their numbers.
Detroit Lions fans with a Jahmyr Gibbs No. 26 jersey may be out of style in 2025.
The third-year running back — who sat tied atop the NFL leaderboard with 16 rushing touchdowns in 2024 — was one of several Lions players who are changing their number this year, according to the team.
Gibbs will go from No. 26 to No. 0, which was worn in 2024 by then-rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold. For his part, Arnold is switching to No. 6, previously worn by current Miami Dolphins safety Ifeatu Melifonwu.
Gibbs isn’t the only impact offensive player who is getting a number change, however. With wide receiver Maurice Alexander’s departure to the Chicago Bears, fourth-year wide receiver Jameson Williams is trading in his No. 9 for a No. 1.
Among all Lions receivers with at least 10 receptions in 2024, Williams led the team with 17.3 yards per reception.
