DEDHAM, Mass. (WJAR) — The Karen Read murder trial will continue on Wednesday following an eventful day.

The Bristol County woman is accused of backing her SUV into her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O’Keefe, and leaving him to die during a snowstorm in 2022 after dropping him off at a friend’s house.

Defense attorneys say she was a victim of a conspiracy involving the police and have suggested he was killed by someone inside the home.

On Tuesday, Jennifer McCabe, who was with Read when they found O’Keefe outside, testified in court.

She is at the center of a controversial Google search when she looked up how long it took for someone to die in the snow.

She also testified that Read called her concerned that she may have fatally injured O’Keefe.

During the Tuesday session, Judge Beverly Cannone ruled she would allow reconstruction experts from ARCCA to testify in the trial.

NBC 10 News will provide complete streaming coverage of the trial on turnto10.com, the NBC 10 WJAR YouTube channel, and the NBC 10 Facebook page.
