Jon Hamm‘s monologue on “Saturday Night Live” was a self-deprecating bit about his slew of cameos he has had on the show through the years, and was interrupted by his “frenemy” Kieran Culkin.
“I know a cameo may seem inconsequential, but it really is an important part of the show,” Hamm said. “Like when a sketch needs that little something extra to take it from a medium sketch to a marginally better than a medium sketch, or when a monologue is feeling aimless and it needs a jolt of energy.”
Culkin then enters the stage in a meta moment.
“What are you even doing here? This is my monologue,” Hamm said.
“I know, I’m just making a cameo
“Why? I’m a huge star and I’m doing really well all by myself.”
Hamm then demands Culkin’s Oscar as the two squabble if “Mad Men” is better than “Succession.”
Culkin is currently in New York City because of his starring role in Broadway’s “Death of a Salesman.”
