Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, had a career night against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. Receiving 30 minutes of playing time due to Los Angeles being down several key contributors, James scored a career-high 17 points while dishing out five assists and converting on seven of his 10 field goal attempts.
It was not as strong of a showing for James in Saturday’s loss to the Chicago Bulls, as he missed all four of his field goal attempts in seven minutes of action. The former USC guard has spent time between the NBA and G League in his rookie season.

In nine regular season games for the South Bay Lakers, James has posted averages of 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists (via NBA G League stats). On Sunday, the Lakers announced he will be going back to South Bay.
Per their official injury report, LA revealed James is not with the NBA club for its contest against the Orlando Magic on Monday.
Monday’s game in Orlando is the first of a four-game road trip for the Lakers. The team returns home on March 31 for a big game against the Houston Rockets.
While LA is on the road, South Bay will play four games. The first two will come at home against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Monday and Tuesday. It is reasonable to assume James will be active for both of those games, given the Lakers’ announcement on Sunday.
Selected 55th overall in the 2024 NBA draft, James has appeared in four-straight games for the Lakers and 23 total this season.
