With strong to severe storms on the horizon for Friday and Easter weekend in Dallas-Fort Worth, when can residents expect the rain to begin?

According to the forecast from KXAS-TV (NBC5), rain chances will begin at about 10% at 2 p.m. and increase to 20% at 3 p.m. Rain chances will remain at that level until 1 a.m. Saturday, when strong to severe storms are expected to impact North Texas.
According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, storms Friday afternoon will be limited to light showers or sprinkles. The strong storms will develop west of North Texas and slowly track east overnight.

The strong to severe storms could produce large hail and damaging winds. Those storms are expected to begin developing around 9 p.m., according to the Weather Service.
The agency also issued a tornado watch until 4 a.m. Saturday for parts of central North Texas. This includes the following counties: Archer, Baylor, Clay, Knox, Wichita and Wilbarger.
NWS says possible threats include “a couple tornadoes,” as well as scattered large hail and damaging winds.
The weather service also issued a flood watch for Cooke, Montague, Jack, and Young counties from 1 a.m. Saturday through 1 p.m. Sunday.
For Saturday’s storms, expect the brunt of it to linger in the morning, with isolated showers expected the rest of the day. Stronger storms are possible again later in the day.
Saturday night could see more strong to severe storms, along with heavy rain, hail, strong winds and even a small tornado threat. Those storms are expected to move out of the area by midday Sunday, leaving breezy winds and highs in the 70s.
Rain totals this weekend could be up to 3 inches.
