6:03 into the first: Dallas is still trying to get a feel for its opponent. The Avalanche have already taken three shots on goal, while the Stars have shot once.

There’s already some chippiness in this one as Colin Blackwell got involved in an early scrum.

– The puck has dropped at American Airlines Center. Official start time for Game 2 was 8:52 p.m.

8:40 p.m.: For a few seconds, it appeared Colorado would get a significant boost from Gabriel Landeskog. That may not be the case for Game 2.

He was literally listed as active on the NHL media site roster report, and Miles Wood was listed as a healthy scratch.

– Could the Avalanche get a key piece back for Game 2? Colorado activated Gabriel Landeskog off injured reserve Monday. Landeskog, Colorado’s captain, has not played in an NHL game since June 26, 2022, when he and the Avalanche beat Tampa Bay to win the Stanley Cup.
