LSU’s Kim Mulkey Gets Big Transfer Portal News on Thursday

Head coach Kim Mulkey and the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team are looking to make another run at the national title.

Mulkey recently led the Tigers to the Elite Eight, having defeated San Diego State, Florida State and NC State in the women’s NCAA Tournament.

LSU ultimately suffered a loss to UCLA, ending its national championship hopes.

Now, Mulkey is tasked with rebuilding the roster. LSU’s leading scorer and rebounder, Aneesah Morrow, was recently drafted by the Connecticut Sun, so there are big shoes to fill at LSU.

According to On3Sports, Mulkey and company should be expecting big news.

Industry insider Talia Goodman has placed a prediction in favor of the Tigers to land South Carolina Gamecocks transfer MiLaysia Fulwiley.

Fulwiley departed from Dawn Staley and the South Carolina women’s basketball team after two seasons. During her second year, the 2024-25 season, Fulwiley posted 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

She was a star from the moment she stepped foot on campus. During her freshman season at South Carolina, Fulwiley recorded 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

The addition of Fulwiley would be a massive offseason victory for Mulkey and the LSU Tigers. Fulwiley has clearly established herself as one of the best guards in the country and has already had two seasons learning under Dawn Staley, one of the best coaches the game has to offer.

If she were to commit to LSU, Fulwiley would be paired with another college basketball star, Flau’jae Johnson.

Last season, Johnson recorded 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
