The Florida Gators advanced to the Elite 8 in the West Region of the 2025 NCAA Tournament with an 87-71 win over the Maryland Terrapins out in San Francisco on Thursday.
It was not easy for Todd Golden’s top-seeded team, who battled back and forth with the Terps for the first half of the game. Ultimately, the Orange and Blue simply had too much for fourth-seeded Maryland, as our own David Rosenberg predicted, using its deep bench to overcome the brief loss of Alex Condon to an ankle injury.
“The Gators have one of the deepest rosters in the country and likely to outlast their opponent until the conditioning fails,” he prophesized in our Gators Wire expert opinions roundtable.
