We’ve had rumors, we’ve had trade reports, we’ve had enough speculation for years that Marvel would be trying to pull off the impossible to get people amped up for its next set of Avengers films. And now, it seems like they’re doing so by assembling quite the roster of familiar names.
In an ongoing live stream this morning, Marvel is teasing a huge amount of upcoming talent to announce Avengers: Doomsday entering production, by tantalizingly laying out director’s chairs with star names on the back, in a long line. What might be a very long line.
A new name appears to be being added every 15 minutes or so. Here’s the full list of stars so far, which we’ll keep updating for as long as Marvel keeps going.
- Chris Hemsworth
- Vanessa Kirby
- Anthony Mackie
- Sebastian Stan
- Letitia Wright
No characters were confirmed yet, of course–there’s every chance that some familiar faces could pull a Robert Downey Jr. and be playing other famous Marvel characters from across the multiverse, rather than their established roles. But suffice to say, it seems like the House of Ideas is very keen on upping the ante the from the last time it ruled the box office in Avengers: Endgame. After a long streak of uneven output since, can they do so? This growing list of names certainly indicates that they hope so.
We’ll bring you more on Marvel’s plans for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars as and when we learn them.
