After spending four seasons with Maryland women’s basketball, Shyanne Sellers declared for the 2025 WNBA Draft, she announced on social media Thursday.
After leading Maryland to her third Sweet 16 appearance, Sellers is out of college eligibility, thus ending her career with the Terps.
Sellers averaged 14.4 points per game in her final season in College Park, along with 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists. For her career, Sellers averaged 12.9 points per game, 4.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 130 career games.
This season, Sellers became the first player in program history to amass 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists.
Sellers is 12th in program history all-time in scoring with 1,676 career points. Her 523 career assists rank third and her 83% free-throw percentage is second-best, behind only Kristi Toliver.
According to ESPN, Sellers is projected to be the sixth pick in the WNBA Draft to the Washington Mystics. However, that was prior to Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles forgoing the draft and entering the transfer portal.
A more recent projection from Fansided has Sellers slotted as the first-ever draft pick for the expansion Golden State Valkyries, taken with the No. 5 pick in the draft.
Most mock drafts have Sellers as a top-10 pick, though, not within the top four.
The 2025 WNBA Draft will take place on Monday, April 14 in New York.
